Ex-Inter Midfielder Francesco Moriero: “Conte Adapting To Nerazzurri Players, Sensi Can Replace Brozovic”

Stefano Sensi is the perfect candidate to replace Marcelo Brozovic for Inter against Sassuolo, according to former Nerazzurri midfielder Francesco Moriero.

Antonio Conte will be without Brozovic against the Neroverdi on Wednesday after the Croatian picked up his fifth booking of the season at Bologna at the weekend.

Roberto Gagliardini is seemingly favourite to come in for Brozovic, but Sensi should be ready to play after featuring and scoring for Italy last week.

“Brozovic doesn’t have a back-up, but Sensi is back and I think he’d do well in that position,” Moriero told Sky Sport Italia today.

“I don’t think Conte will change his approach against Sassuolo in any case, although I think it’s important he has a player in front of the defence who can dictate play.”

Inter seem headed for a first league title in 11 years after AC Milan’s draw with Sampdoria on Saturday allowed them to pull eight points clear (with a game in hand).

Victory over Sassuolo in midweek would put Conte’s side within touching distance of the title, and Moriero was full of praise for the former Juventus boss.

“You can never say never in football, but I think Inter are heading towards the title,” he said.

“They don’t play a spectacular brand of football but they’re solid; Conte has managed to mould this team and he’s someone who never gives up.

“You can’t doubt his qualities, he’s found a balance for a team that was previously having trouble.

“It’s more important than ever this season just to bring home results, and Inter rarely buckle under pressure from their opponents.

“They leave them to play before hitting them on the counterattack.

“Antonio’s achievement has been to do the simple things well and adapt his team to the brilliant players that he has.”

Inter have won nine consecutive games in Serie A and have only conceded three times in their last 11 league matches.
