Inter coach Antonio Conte remains undecided on his preferred midfield for Wednesday’s Serie A match against Sassuolo, as he looks to replace suspended Marcelo Brozovic.

The Nerazzurri face Sassuolo at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in a rearranged Serie A match but will be without Croatia international Brozovic, who serves a one-match ban after an accumulation of yellow cards.

As reported by FCInter1908.it yesterday, Christian Eriksen will move into Brozovic’s role in the three-man midfield alongside Nicolo Barella, leaving an opening for the likes of Stefano Sensi and Roberto Gagliardini to step into the starting line-up.

Sensi has recovered from injury and made a goalscoring appearance for Italy against Lithuania last week, staking a claim for a role in Conte’s Inter side.

Alternatively, Gagliardini could be handed the responsibility of filling in, whilst Arturo Vidal has completed his comeback from knee surgery and could also feature.

Elsewhere, Andrea Ranocchia may retain his place at centre-back to cover for the suspended Alessandro Bastoni, with Stefan De Vrij ready to return to action following his period of isolation after contracting COVID-19.
