Inter hope to raise funds for their summer transfer campaign by selling two unwanted loan players, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta.it revealed the Nerazzurri were planning to offload Joao Mario and Radja Nainggolan, perhaps with a view to reinvesting the money into new signings.

Joao Mario is on a season-long loan at his boyhood club Sporting CP and Inter hope the move can be made permanent at the end of the campaign – although Real Betis are also interested in the 28-year-old.

The midfielder is under contract with the Nerazzurri until the summer of 2022 and is valued by Inter at least €10 million.

Nainggolan re-joined Cagliari on a six-month loan in January and could sign for the Rossoblu in the summer, but that is dependent on one of two conditions being met.

Cagliari must secure their Serie A status in order to finance a move for Nainggolan (they are currently in the relegation zone with 10 games left, two points adrift of Torino), otherwise the Belgian must agree to a wage cut.

Inter’s directors are hoping a solution can be found one way or another before too long.
