Antonio Conte can breathe a sigh of relief after all of Inter’s players returned negative COVID-19 tests today.

The Nerazzurri’s first-team squad completed molecular tests on Monday with fears they could be affected by the outbreak within the Italian national team.

Marco Verratti, Alessandro Florenzi, Leonardo Bonucci and Alessio Cragno are among the Azzurri players to have contracted the virus this week after international duty.

Inter’s Italian trio of Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni and Stefano Sensi are all clear though, as are the rest of Conte’s players.

Conte saw Inter’s matchday 27 fixture in Serie A at home to Sassuolo postponed before the international break, after four Inter player tested positive for COVID-19.

He will seemingly have no such issues this time around, with the Nerazzurri preparing to host Roberto De Zerbi’s side tomorrow evening.

Inter will open up an 11-point gap at the top of Serie A with victory in their rearranged match at San Siro.
