Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s impeccable work rates are an example for their Inter teammates, according to an Italian media report today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the strikers were leading by example for the Nerazzurri, both with their goals but also through their attitudes.

Lukaku provided a decisive clearance in his own box with the final kick of Saturday’s match at Bologna, heading a cross away to safety to secure a 1-0 win.

Lautaro, meanwhile, is getting through a lot of generous running for Antonio Conte’s side to go with his excellent attacking play.

Inter have reached a level of maturity which enables them to face each opponent in exactly the same manner, the report explained.

Conte deserves credit for instilling his fighting spirit in the players but it is Lukaku and Lautaro who are personifying that on the pitch.

Lautaro’s terrific performances for Inter this season have put him in line to sign a contract extension in the coming weeks.
