Inter will welcome Beppe Marotta back to San Siro for tonight’s rearranged Serie A fixture with Sassuolo, according to a report in the Italian media.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri’s chief executive would be in the stands to support Antonio Conte’s side in their quest for a tenth straight league win.

Marotta contracted COVID-19 in February and was taken to hospital as a precaution at the start of last month, but he has since made a full recovery.

He has not attended an Inter match since their 3-0 win in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan, which took place on February 21.

Marotta made his long-awaited return to Appiano Gentile on Monday after being forced to quarantine while he remained positive for COVID-19.

Inter’s CEO has played a crucial role in the club’s bid to win the Serie A title this season, having successfully isolated Conte’s players from the intense speculation surrounding owners Suning.
