Inter Milan began their Champions League campaign with a goalless draw away to Manchester City.
It was a cagey match, with neither of the two European heavyweights willing to overcommit in attack.
However, that does not mean that it was a match without chances.
Inter had a few very promising counterattacking situations. Particularly in the first half of the match.
And in the closing stages, a couple of good chances fell to City inside the Nerazzurri penalty area.
But in the end, it was a match defined by both teams’ tactical structure and defensive solidity.
For Inter, they take a point in what was, on paper, their hardest match of the “league phase” into the coming fixtures.
Inter goalkeeper Yann Sommer took to Instagram with snapshots from the draw.
