Inter have been offered the chance to sign Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, according to a report in the Italian media.

FcInterNews.it said the Nerazzurri had become an attractive proposition for many agents, who are offering their players to the club on free transfers.

Hysaj is out of contract at Napoli in the summer but it seems Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are unlikely to pursue a deal for the Albanian.

Inter are more interested in a specialist left wing-back than a versatile full-back who can play on either side, because they already have Matteo Darmian in that role.

Hysaj is also viewed by Marotta and Ausilio as being more suited to a four-man defence than a wing-back role, so a move for the 27-year-old is not a priority.

Roma are thought to be in pole position to sign Hysaj, especially if the Giallorossi were to hire Maurizio Sarri – who coached Hysaj at Empoli and Napoli – in the summer.

Inter’s response to being offered Hysaj, who has made 20 appearances for Napoli this season, was described as ‘tepid’.
