Inter will have a new referee in charge of their next Serie A fixture at home to Cagliari on Sunday.

Luca Pairetto is set to take charge of the Nerazzurri for the first time this season, when Antonio Conte’s side welcome the Rossoblu to San Siro.

Inter have won 10 straight games in the league following last night’s 2-1 win against Sassuolo, putting them 11 points clear of second-placed AC Milan.

Pairetto has officiated 11 games in Serie A this season, including Cagliari’s 3-2 defeat at Roma on December 23.

The referee will be assisted by Filippo Valeriani and Davide Imperale on Sunday, with Luca Massimi acting as fourth official.

Davide Massa and Alessandro Lo Cicero will be overseeing VAR duties, which will be under particular scrutiny after controversial incidents during yesterday’s two matches.

Inter’s second goal against Sassuolo was allowed to stand despite a contentious incident in the Nerazzurri box involving Stefan de Vrij, who could have conceded a penalty for a shirt tug on Giacomo Raspadori.

Juventus’ match with Napoli also featured several contentious decisions for which VAR opted not to intervene.
