Inter are charging towards the Serie A title with a team that marries Antonio Conte’s DNA with their own, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition compared the Nerazzurri’s current side to those great teams of the past managed by Jose Mourinho, Giovanni Trapattoni and Helenio Herrera, coaches described as ‘more pragmatic than pretty’.

Conte’s Inter are also strikingly similar to his Chelsea side though, with both teams travelling at the same points-per-game average.

His teams always score more than two goals per game while they concede fewer than one every match, and that is exactly what Inter are doing this season too.

The Milan-based paper argued that Inter fans would not care about how attractive the football was if Conte went on to secure their first league title in 11 years.

They will instead be focusing on how Inter have won 10 games in a row and are 11 points clear of AC Milan at the top of the table.
