Borussia Moenchengladbach Will Reject Opportunity To Sign Inter Winger Valentino Lazaro Permanently, Italian Media Claim

Austrian winger Valentino Lazaro is set to return to Inter this summer after a loan spell with German Bundesliga club Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The 25-year-old moved to Germany on a season-long loan with an option to buy after failing to convince Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte last term.

However, according to FCInterNews.it, Lazaro has not done enough to persuade Gladbach to trigger the €13.8 million agreement in his deal to bring him in permanently, and he will return to Inter at the end of the campaign.

Conte has no intention of retaining Lazaro though and feels suitably equipped on the right wing with Achraf Hakimi, whilst Matteo Darmian has proved to be a capable back-up option.

The former Red Bull Salzburg player faces an uncertain future at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza and Inter are keen to move him on, particularly as any transfer fee would prove particularly useful to them this summer.

Lazaro joined the Nerazzurri from Hertha BSC in 2019 but only made 11 appearances for the club before joining Newcastle United on loan, prior to his switch to Gladbach.
