Christian Eriksen produced a man-of-the-match display for Inter during their win over Cagliari, according to former Nerazzurri defender Daniele Adani.

The Dane started alongside Marcelo Brozovic and Stefano Sensi in a high-quality midfield and helped dictate play for 81 minutes at San Siro.

Adani has always been one of Eriksen’s greatest defenders at Inter and took another opportunity to express his admiration for the 29-year-old today.

Speaking to Radio Deejay, Adani argued: “For me, Eriksen was the best player on the pitch against Cagliari.”

Adani also had words of praise for Antonio Conte for the job he is doing at Inter, following yesterday’s 11th straight win in Serie A.

Inter are 11 points clear of second-placed AC Milan and now seem likely to win their first league title since 2010.

“Conte gets what he deserves, this is the point I’d like to make,” Adani added.

“Inter are fully deserving of this league title success, they’ve shown that having started further back than Juventus and then hunting down AC Milan for a long spell.

“11 wins in a row, with a very clear team identity, speak for themselves.”

Inter were one point behind AC Milan when their winning run started and now they are well clear of their city rivals, along with Juventus in third.

Conte’s side will look to continue their march to the title at Napoli on Sunday.
