Inter could have their president Steven Zhang back in Milan at the end of this week, according to a report in the Italian media.

Calciomercato.com said Zhang was planning to come back to Italy on Friday, which would mean he could finish his quarantine period before the end of April.

Zhang hoped to make his return last week but he was prevented from doing so by Italy and China’s COVID-19 restrictions.

He wants to be free to return to San Siro for Inter’s last few games of the season, so he can celebrate the Nerazzurri winning the Serie A title properly.

CM’s report pointed out that Suning were close to fulfilling their promise of ‘taking Inter back to the top’ when they bought the club from Erick Thohir in 2016.

Inter are 13 points away from the Scudetto, their first since 2010, after yesterday’s 1-0 win over Cagliari at San Siro.

Antonio Conte’s side are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A with just eight games left.
