Inter’s Achraf Hakimi ‘Made All The Difference’ To Help Nerazzurri Beat Cagliari, Italian Media Argue

Achraf Hakimi made the difference for Inter during their 1-0 win over Cagliari, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Hakimi replaced Ashley Young with 20 minutes left and San Siro and provided the match-winning assist for Matteo Darmian within five minutes.

The Moroccan wing-back has endured a period of indifferent form lately, but his second-half appearance here suggested he was back somewhere close to his best.

“He makes all the difference in the world when he puts his turbo on,” a report in Tuttosport’s print edition argued, handing Hakimi a rating of 7.5/10 along with Darmian.

Corriere dello Sport, who gave the 22-year-old a score of 7/10, said he ‘deserved’ his kiss from Antonio Conte on the side-lines, having set up Darmian for a tap-in at the far post.

Hakimi has now provided six goals and seven assists for Inter in all competitions this season, fully justifying his €40 million transfer fee in his move from Real Madrid last summer.

His assist for Darmian yesterday was his first in more than two months though, having last set up a goal during a 2-0 win at Fiorentina on February 5.
