Christian Eriksen has made Inter a more enjoyable team to watch, according to former Nerazzurri striker Christian Vieri.

The Dane produced another impressive display in midfield against Cagliari on Sunday, playing 81 minutes in a 1-0 win for Antonio Conte’s side at San Siro.

Conte has received criticism lately for his low-possession approach with the Nerazzurri, with some even suggesting Inter play ‘bad’ football.

Vieri is having none of it though, telling viewers on his Twitch channel last night: “I like watching Inter play.

“I saw the second half of the Cagliari game and they were dominant, Cagliari never made it out of their own box.

“Inter have played more pretty games than ugly games this season, and since Eriksen came into the side they’ve had some beautiful matches.

“They’re playing good football and they’re improving, they did well against Cagliari.

“Conte deserves credit along with Inter’s key players; it’s taken him a year and a half to win the Scudetto, playing a good brand of football.”

Eriksen seemed almost certain to leave Inter in the January transfer window, when Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City were keen on bringing him back to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old’s future appears to be with the Nerazzurri now thanks to his recent revival, and that is certainly what Vieri is expecting.

“I don’t think Eriksen will leave,” he added.

Inter are 11 points clear at the top of the table and Vieri believes there can be no questioning that they would be worthy champions.

“Inter are the most complete team in Serie A and they have the league’s most complete striker in Romelu Lukaku,” he concluded.
