Inter’s likely Serie A title triumph could have a direct impact on the future of owners Suning, according to Gianfelice Facchetti.

Suning have been subject to intense speculation since the start of 2021, as the Nerazzurri’s majority shareholders look to sort the club’s ongoing financial issues.

They are thought to have decided against selling Inter, as per one source last night, but uncertainty still lingers with so many questions still to be answered.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset on ‘Tiki Taka’ last night, Facchetti (son of Inter’s legendary full-back Giacinto) said: “I have contrasting information about Suning.

“The feeling is that what’s happening on the pitch could change their future plans.

“I don’t think Steven Zhang will leave Inter so suddenly, but he is taking time at the moment.

“It seems there’s the possibility to give Inter the liquidity they need and guarantee a transition if there has to be one.

“Inter’s debts? We’ve heard news recently that even Juventus have asked to defer some payments…”

Inter are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A after Sunday’s 1-0 win at home to Cagliari, their 11th straight league victory.

Antonio Conte’s side have successfully isolated themselves from all the off-field speculation since the New Year and seem destined now to win the Scudetto.

Inter will return to action on Sunday night when they visit Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
