Inter could do a lot worse than signing Slavia Prague forward Lukas Provod in the summer, his agent assured today.

Last month, reports in the Czech media (via Sport Mediaset) claimed the Nerazzurri were interested in a deal for the 24-year-old winger, who has impressed during Slavia Prague’s run to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Provod has scored five goals and provided nine assists in all competitions for Jindřich Tripišovský’s side, who are 17 points clear at the top of the Czech First League.

“He would definitely be ready to make the next step in his career and join a top club like Inter,” Provod’s agent Martin Hrdlicka told FcInterNews.it.

“Provod has built up the right experience and and is at the right age for a new challenge.

“Everything depends on Slavia Prague though, and whether they will be willing to sell a key player in their team.

“Provod is a hard worker and a very intelligent player who believes in his ability.

“He’s capable of playing on both wings, but he can play well as a midfielder too.

“He’s naturally left-footed but strong with both feet.”

Asked directly about whether Inter were interested, Hrdlicka added: “We’ve spoken with a lot of agents around Europe, but none of them have mentioned Inter.”

Provod has already had an opportunity to play at San Siro, having come on as a substitute during a 1-1 draw against Inter during last season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.

He has made seven appearances for Czech Republic’s senior national team, scoring his first goal in a 1-1 draw against Belgium during FIFA World Cup qualifying last month.
