Antonio Conte has put Udinese captain Rodrigo de Paul top of his transfer wish list, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Calciomercato.com said De Paul is likely to have interest from numerous top European clubs this summer and would be perfect for  Conte’s midfield.

Udinese want €40 million to sell De Paul but Inter could attempt to lower their asking price by offering players in a part-exchange deal, such as Andrea Pinamonti or Lucien Agoume.

Inter’s corporate issues will have a big influence on their summer transfer plans, but club president Steven Zhang wants Suning to stay in charge and this would help the Nerazzurri continue their pursuit for De Paul.

De Paul could have joined Inter back in January when the Nerazzurri were confident they would sell Christian Eriksen, but the Dane stayed at San Siro in the end.

Piero Ausilio made contact with Udinese a while back and has kept in touch with the Bianconeri, with a view to more talks taking place at the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing the 26-year-old, following a ‘suggestion’ from their midfielder Leandro Paredes (a fellow Argentine).

De Paul has continued to shine at Udinese despite the club getting through seven coaches in the last four seasons, while also boasting one of Serie A’s least prolific attacks in recent years (they scored only 37 goals in 38 games last season).
