Emerson Palmieri remains Inter’s first-choice target at left wing-back, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said Emerson was the name which most interested Antonio Conte and the Nerazzurri’s directors, as they seek an equivalent to Achraf Hakimi on the opposite flank.

The 26-year-old is out of contract with Chelsea next summer (2022) and has not featured much this season, making just 14 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea are expected to sell Emerson at the end of the campaign for a fee in the region of €12-15 million.

Inter could be a leading contender to bring Emerson back to Serie A, but he is not the only player they are monitoring in the left wing-back position.

Atalanta’s Robin Gosens is thought to be extremely difficult to sign, given the German’s €40 million price tag, but Filip Kostic at Eintracht Frankfurt could be a more realistic option.

Inter are also monitoring two younger options, namely Vitaliy Mykolenko at Dynamo Kiev and Noah Katterbach at FC Koln.
