Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal’s futures at Inter remain in doubt, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Sanchez had never quite managed to become the high-quality option Inter wanted in attack behind Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.

The former Manchester United forward is not guaranteed to stay with the Nerazzurri, not least because he earns a huge annual salary of €7 million.

Vidal is also facing an uncertain future, having played precious little since Antonio Conte demanded his signing from Barcelona last summer.

Aleksandar Kolarov is likely to leave Inter when his one-year contract expires in the summer, the Milan-based paper continued.

The Serbian has been an important figure in the Nerazzurri’s dressing room but has only made 11 appearances under Conte.

Inter will discuss the futures of all three players and many more when their president Steven Zhang returns to Milan in the coming days.

The club’s directors are already drawing up plans for the transfer window and Zhang’s arrival will help them understand what kind of budget they have available.

Inter are thought to need a defender, a left-footed wing-back, a dynamic midfielder and a forward if they are to become a competitive side in the UEFA Champions League, according to this report.
