Antonio Conte deserves all the credit possible for the job he has done at Inter, at least if you believe former president Ernesto Pellegrini.

Inter are 11 points clear at the top of Serie A with just eight games left, making them heavy favourites to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2010.

Some believe Inter have the league’s strongest squad and are exactly where they should be in the table, while others think Conte has done incredibly well to have them so far ahead of AC Milan and Juventus.

Pellegrini, who was Inter’s president between 1984 and 1995, told Radio Kiss Kiss on Wednesday: “Conte is a great leader and he’s doing an incredible job.

“Inter seem to be a great team, it’s the right year to finally win the Scudetto again.

“I’m very pleased to watch this latest league title being won.”

Inter have become the first team in Serie A history to begin the second half of a league season with 11 straight wins, breaking the previous record (10) set by Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan in 1990.

Conte’s side travel to play Napoli at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday, where they will be hoping to extend that run to 12.
