Stefano Sensi is ready to take Serie A by storm again during Inter’s title run-in, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Antonio Conte had worked over the past few months to help the midfielder regain peak fitness, so that Sensi could play ‘an important role’ towards the end of the season.

Sensi was the brightest star in Conte’s Inter when he joined the club from Sassuolo in the summer of 2019, but he has been plagued by injury concerns ever since.

The 25-year-old could become ‘devastating’ for the Nerazzurri when they try to make progress in next season’s UEFA Champions League, the report suggested.

Sensi showed off all his talent and personality at the beginning of the 2019-20 season, without needing any time whatsoever to get used to playing on a big stage at San Siro.

Conte has been taking good care of the Italy international in the hope that his patience will be repaid in the next few weeks.

A report elsewhere today said Sensi was one of three Inter midfielders fighting for his future at the club between now and the end of the season.

He made his first start for Inter since September last weekend, playing 81 minutes in their 1-0 win at home to Cagliari.
