Antonio Conte remains keen on bringing Edin Dzeko to Inter, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Dzeko produced yet another decisive performance for Roma against Ajax last night, scoring the goal that secured their spot in the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League.

Despite this, the Bosnian remains almost certain to leave the Giallorossi in the summer and as per Calciomercato.com, Conte is still interested in signing Dzeko for Inter.

The 35-year-old is under contract with Roma until 2022 but the most likely scenario now is that he rescinds his contract at the end of this season, which would make him a free agent.

Inter came close to securing Dzeko’s services in January, the report recalled, when they explored a loan swap involving Alexis Sanchez.

Talks with Roma ultimately fell through because of the €4 million gap in the players’ wages before tax, a problem neither club was capable of sorting.

Inter could cross paths with Dzeko again at the end of the season, with Roma already seeking a replacement up front.

Dzeko has scored 11 goals in all competitions for Paulo Fonseca’s side this season, while also providing two assists.
