Inter President Steven Zhang is determined to celebrate with the squad should the Nerazzurri win the Serie A title this season, as he plans a return to Italy.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Il Giorno, the Suning shareholder has been at home in China since the turn of the year but is considering his options for travel to Milan.

The Nerazzurri are closing in on a first Scudetto since 2010 and are just a maximum of 13 points away from becoming champions, but Zhang would face a period of 14 days of quarantine upon arrival, leaving him little time to join up with the team.

Meanwhile, attention will also be turned to financial matters, with Suning preparing to monetise every possibility from a title success in order to raise funds.

Having met UEFA’s March deadlines on outstanding debts, Inter must now secure further funding for the summer and the priority is to secure loans, unless a buyer can be found for the 31% stake owned by LionRock.

The situation has seen little change since January and Suning’s valuation of the club remains at  €1 billion, putting off interested parties such as BC Partners, whilst there has been little progress in talks with minority investors.
