Italian Journalist Ciro Venerato: “Napoli Coach Gennaro Gattuso Likely To Start Victor Osimhen Against Inter”

Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso is set to change his starting line-up and opt for forward Victor Osimhen instead of Dries Mertens against Inter tomorrow evening.

Antonio Conte’s side travel to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Serie A tomorrow evening looking to secure a 12th consecutive league win, and Rai journalist Ciro Venerato revealed the likely line-up Inter are set to face.

In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss earlier today, Venerato confirmed that Gattuso was looking to shake his team up ahead of the visit of the league leaders, with Dries Mertens unlikely to start as the main forward.

“Gattuso will only choose tomorrow. At the moment, the two changes could see Osimhen ahead of Mertens and on the left Mario Rui over Elseid Hysaj, the Portuguese should start,” Venerato claimed.

“In attack Osimhen will lead the line, whilst in the last hours it had emerged that there could be the surprise decision between Mertens and [Piotr] Zielinski in the role of second striker,” he added.

Napoli come into the match with four wins from their past five games and are looking for victory to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
