The threat of Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne will present a significant challenge for Inter wing-back Achraf Hakimi at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona this evening, Italian media suggest.
Inter travel to Naples to take on the Partenopei and secure a 12th consecutive win, as they edge closer to the Scudetto, but Hakimi’s battles on the right flank have been highlighted as a key factor in any success.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Morocco international will need to be fully aware of the pace and movement of Insigne in attack, whilst also dealing with the progression of left-back Mario Rui.
During their meeting in December, a 1-0 win for Inter, Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso pushed Mario Rui into a more advanced position to deal with Hakimi, freeing Insigne up to cut inside and cause a threat.
Meanwhile, victory for Inter would see them on the cusp of the Serie A title and the newspaper points to the curiosity of Hakimi almost winning the league in his first season against a team that had long courted him.
The 22-year-old had caught the attention of Napoli whilst on loan at Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid last season, and the Azzurri had looked to sign him before he ultimately chose Inter.
