Inter could be no further than two weeks away from becoming Serie A champions, a report in the Italian media highlighted today.

The Nerazzurri took another small step towards the title last night by securing a 1-1 draw away at Napoli, leaving them nine points clear of AC Milan with seven games left.

Tuttosport’s print edition suggested that Inter could realistically win the Serie A title on either May 1, when they visit Crotone, or on May 9 when they play Sampdoria at San Siro.

Before that, Antonio Conte’s side will play Spezia away from home and then host Hellas Verona on Sunday, giving Inter four very winnable matches in succession.

Inter need only 12 points to be mathematically confirmed as champions now, but they might need fewer than that if AC Milan drop points in the next couple of weeks.

Christian Eriksen secured a draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona with a fine strike from the edge of the Napoli box, cancelling out Samir Handanovic’s first-half own goal.
