Inter need three signings to complete their squad in the upcoming transfer window, according to Nerazzurri legend Beppe Bergomi.

Antonio Conte’s side took another step towards the Serie A title last night by securing a 1-1 draw away at Napoli, keeping them nine points clear of AC Milan with seven games left.

The Nerazzurri are odds-on favourites to win the Scudetto for the first time since 2010, but Bergomi is convinced there are many areas where Inter can get better.

“Inter have room for improvement,” Bergomi told Sky Sport Italia last night.

“They would need a pure left-footer to play at left wing-back, a different back-up striker to the ones they have in their squad and a fast centre-back.

“At the moment their back-up in defence is Andrea Ranocchia, or they can adapt Matteo Darmian or Danilo D’Ambrosio in the back three.

“If Inter had a faster defender they could think about defending higher up the pitch.”

Christian Eriksen earned Inter their point last night by firing in an equaliser at the start of the second half, cancelling out Samir Handanovic’s own goal.

Conte will take the Nerazzurri to Spezia on Wednesday night as they look to close in on the title still further.

Inter need a maximum of 12 points to mathematically become champions, although they could require fewer if AC Milan drop points.
