Christian Eriksen is not leaving Inter anytime soon, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Eriksen scored only his second league goal since joining the Nerazzurri last night, firing in a second-half equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw away at Napoli.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the midfielder was now ‘central’ to Inter, both on and off the pitch, and was at the top of Antonio Conte’s pecking order.

Inter no longer have any intention to put Eriksen up for sale and accept the best offer, following their attempt to offload him in the January transfer window.

Eriksen began reviving his Inter career back in January, the Milan-based paper recalled, when he scored a stoppage-time winner against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.

Many doubted the 29-year-old’s mental strength and whether he could adapt to a tactical league like Serie A, but nobody is asking such questions anymore.
