Inter will have another chance to sign Roma striker Edin Dzeko in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Calciomercato.com said Dzeko was due to leave the Giallorossi at the end of this season, when he will rescind his contract with the capital club.

Inter came close to signing Dzeko in the January transfer window when they explored talks with Roma over a loan swap involving Alexis Sanchez.

Ultimately the negotiations fell through, but it seems the 35-year-old will become ‘an opportunity’ for Antonio Conte’s side on a free transfer.

Dzeko has scored 11 goals for Roma in all competitions this season, while also providing two assists.

He is known to have fallen out with Giallorossi head coach Paulo Fonseca earlier in the campaign, although the pair have seemingly managed to rebuild their bridges to at least get Roma to the end of the season.

Conte already wanted Inter to sign Dzeko when he was appointed as head coach in 2019, but the Bosnian ultimately signed a new three-year deal with Roma instead.
