Antonio Conte has warned his Inter players to ignore the league table as they chase the Serie A title, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition highlighted that the Nerazzurri needed a maximum of 12 points from their last seven games to win the Scudetto.

Inter have a points-per-game average of 2.42 in Serie A this season, and if they kept up that ratio they would pick up 17 points from the last 21 available.

However, Conte has told the players to not get distracted by calculations and instead ‘play every game to win’, ahead of tonight’s fixture away at Spezia.

Inter have four ‘favourable’ games on paper now, the Turin-based paper explained, which could see them wrap up the Scudetto before facing Roma (on May 12) and Juventus (on May 16).

Conte’s side play Hellas Verona, Crotone and Sampdoria after Spezia tonight as they look for the 12 points they need to kill off AC Milan’s lingering title hopes.
