Inter could have the chance to sign Atletico Madrid full-back Renan Lodi in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

FcInterNews.it said Lodi was considering a move away from the Colchoneros, for whom he has started just seven times in all competitions this season.

The Brazilian’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci, who helped bring Lodi to Atletico for €20 million two years ago, has made preliminary contact with Inter and Juventus.

Both clubs are seeking a left-sided defender in the summer and should therefore be considered contenders for the 23-year-old.

Lodi’s pace and dribbling abilities make him an ideal wing-back in Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system, FCIN added, making him a viable replacement for the outgoing Ashley Young.

Inter would be especially interested in Lodi if he were to become available on loan with an option to buy, although the report did not say what kind of deal Atletico would want.

Diego Simeone’s side would be prepared to let Lodi leave for the right offer, though.
