Antonio Conte is set for talks with Steven Zhang to understand Suning’s plans for Inter next season, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said Inter’s president was likely to return to Milan next week and join up with Conte’s side before they play Crotone on May 1, which could be the day they celebrate winning Serie A.

Both Conte and Inter’s fans want to know what next season will look like though, and Zhang’s arrival will also help to clarify that after months of off-field speculation regarding Suning.

Suning remain intent on finding a minority shareholder at Inter who can guarantee the club €250 million, while allowing them to stay as owners.

Conte has a lucrative €13 million net contract for next season and is very happy with life at Inter, not least because he has a very tight relationship now with all his players.

He has no intention of leaving Inter but he does want clarity over what happens next, which should arrive when Conte and Zhang hold face-to-face talks with the club’s management after the Scudetto is secured.

Whether Inter will have money to reinforce the squad ahead of the Champions League, whether they will need to contain costs or whether they need to reduce their wage bill, Conte wants to know what the future looks like.

Gazzetta assured there was no sign of Inter wanting to sell off their key players, reporting that it would need to be adjusted in certain areas.
