Inter could be forced to sell off several youngsters in the summer as they try to balance their books, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Corriere dello Sport’s print edition said it seemed certain that the Nerazzurri would sell ‘one or two players’, preferably before June 30 in order to reduce their predicted loss for the current financial year.

Inter can cover part of their losses by selling Lucien Agoume, who is currently on loan at Spezia, who has a contract with the club until 2022.

The club might be tempted to sacrifice some of their other youngsters though, who are said to be doing well around Italy and Europe.

Antonio Conte is out of contract in 2022 and this is said to be an urgent issue for Inter president Steven Zhang, who is due to return to Italy in the next week or two.

Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin also have deals which expire next summer but there is thought to be less haste in sorting their situations.

Suning are working to secure a new minority shareholder for Inter, the Rome-based paper added, which is likely to be found in the USA.

Their idea is to secure €250 million of financing while pledging 100% of Great Horizon – the Luxembourg-based company through which Suning control Inter – as part of the deal.

This would mean that if Suning did not repay their loan by the agreed deadline, they could lose control of Inter.
