Inter coach Antonio Conte is expected to turn to Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez in attack against Hellas Verona today, despite neither of them scoring in their last three games.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, Chile international Alexis Sanchez had been pushing for a starting berth at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza but has been unable to dislodge Lukaku or Martinez.

Conte is hoping that his first-choice strike partners will rediscover their scoring touch, having failed to find the back of the net against Cagliari, Napoli, or Spezia.

Former Manchester United striker Lukaku has never scored against Verona in his career, whilst Martinez’s only strike against them came in the 2-1 win just before Christmas.

Meanwhile, the only possible change to the team may come at left wing-back, with Matteo Darmian challenging Ivan Perisic for the position. However, Croatia international Perisic is likely to retain his place, having netted the equaliser against Spezia last time out.
