Stefan de Vrij continued his exceptional form for Inter with a dominant display against Hellas Verona yesterday, according to a report in the Italian media.

The Dutch defender played the full 90 minutes at San Siro as Antonio Conte’s side secured a vital 1-0 win, courtesy of another late strike from Matteo Darmian.

De Vrij was awarded a rating of 6.5/10 in Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition after another comfortable afternoon in Conte’s back three.

“When did he last have a bad performance?” the Milan-based paper asked.

“Kevin Lasagna was moving everywhere but he was imprecise; De Vrij got the better of him with his positional sense and defensive organisation.”

Alessandro Bastoni was also rated highly in one paper for his display against the Gialloblu, with Tuttosport giving him 7/10 after two decisive interventions to deny Davide Faraoni and Eddie Salcedo.

The 21-year-old also produced a beautiful long-range pass early on to set up Lautaro Martinez, albeit El Toro was unable to lob Marco Silvestri in the Hellas Verona goal.
