Antonio Conte is not the only member of Inter’s staff that deserves credit for the club’s likely Serie A triumph, a leading Italian broadcaster argued this evening.

Sky Sport Italia (via FcInter1908.it) pointed out that the Nerazzurri had suffered very few injuries this season, which has helped them fly away in the title race since January.

Inter’s chief doctor Piero Volpi and fitness coach Antonio Pintus have been instrumental to their form in the last 13 league games, which has seen Conte’s side pick up 11 wins and two draws.

Conte’s assistant coaches also deserve credit for the decisions they’ve made, the report suggested, even if they are not in the spotlight like their boss every weekend.

Inter secured a 13th straight home league win yesterday after Matteo Darmian converted Achraf Hakimi’s assist to see off Hellas Verona.

Sky noted that it was the second home match in a row in which Inter had won thanks to a combination from their wing-backs, after Hakimi set up Darmian to score against Cagliari too.

Conte is due to meet Inter president Steven Zhang in the coming weeks to discuss Suning’s plans for next season, but the report assured that there would be no repeat of the tensions that surfaced last summer.

The imminent meeting will not be comparable to the summit which took place at Villa Bellini, after Conte had criticised the club on certain aspects at the end of last season.
