Inter held talks with Hellas Verona yesterday over a deal to sign goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, according to a leading Italian transfer expert.

As per Alfredo Pedulla, the Nerazzurri took advantage of the sides playing each other at San Siro to continue exploring a move for the 30-year-old, who is on the club’s shortlist to replace Samir Handanovic.

Silvestri is certain to leave Hellas Verona in the summer with his contract due to expire in 2022, but he also has interest from Lazio and Roma.

Inter offered Andrei Radu to the Gialloblu as part of a deal for Silvestri, with the report suggesting that the Romanian could be of interest to Ivan Juric’s side.

Inter know they must sign a long-term successor to Handanovic in the near future and are also big admirers of Juan Musso at Udinese.

The Argentine will cost a lot of money to sign though, while there is also competition from Roma to overcome.

Silvestri has made 33 appearances for Hellas Verona this season, keeping seven clean sheets in Serie A.

Inter secured a vital 1-0 win yesterday thanks to a late strike from super-sub Matteo Darmian.
