Inter boss Antonio Conte is still determined to sign Rodrigo de Paul in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media.

Calciomercato.com said Udinese’s captain could become a target for the Nerazzurri again after they were unable to pursue a deal in January, due to Suning’s well-documented financial problems.

Conte revived Christian Eriksen’s Inter career after failing to secure De Paul, but he will make another request for the Argentine when he meets club president Steven Zhang for talks.

Inter’s boss would be happy with a ‘controlled’ transfer campaign that saw the club retain all its key players, without ‘crazy’ signings, but he does want a signing in midfield.

De Paul is also being followed by Napoli ahead of the summer, with Udinese set to fix a ‘high’ price tag for the 26-year-old.

He has scored eight goals and provided nine assists for Luca Gotti’s side this season, including two assists during Sunday’s 4-2 win at Benevento.
