Inter have not ruled out the idea of selling Alexis Sanchez in the summer, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Tuttosport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri would likely need to sacrifice ‘at least one key player’ before June 30 in order to address the club’s well-documented financial problems.

Inter are expected to record a heavy loss for the current financial year and this could persuade them to offload some of their highest earners.

Sanchez is one of those players and was mooted as a possible departure by the Turin-based paper, despite the Chilean’s upturn in form in 2021.

Antonio Conte is hoping Inter can secure reinforcements in the transfer window because he does not believe his squad is complete, even though they are on the brink of winning Serie A.

If the Nerazzurri are forced to sacrifice one or two players though, he would need extra signings to replace them.

Sanchez has scored five goals and provided seven assists for Inter in all competitions this season.
