Inter president Steven Zhang will finally return to Milan on Thursday as the Nerazzurri prepare to celebrate the Serie A title, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition revealed Zhang would almost certainly visit Appiano Gentile on Friday and meet with Inter’s players and staff before their trip to Crotone at the weekend.

Antonio Conte and the club’s directors are waiting to hold talks with Zhang to discover Suning’s plans for Inter ahead of the summer transfer window.

Zhang will not follow Inter to the Stadio Ezio Scida on Saturday, where the Nerazzurri could move to within touching distance of the scudetto with another victory.

Inter will become Serie A champions on Sunday if they beat Crotone and Atalanta fail to win at Sassuolo the following afternoon.

If Conte’s side are forced to wait until their next match, at home Sampdoria on May 8, it would remarkably be the first time since way back in 1989 (when Giovanni Trapattoni was in charge) that Inter had celebrated winning a league title at San Siro.

Conte wants to wrap up the title as soon as possible and will not take his eye off the ball until Inter are mathematically certain of the title.

After that, he could give more game time to players who have featured less this season, such as Andrei Radu, Aleksandar Kolarov, Matias Vecino and Andrea Pinamonti.
