Real Madrid could come calling soon for Inter defender Milan Skriniar, according to a report in the Spanish media today.

As per Fichajes.net, the La Liga giants are considering selling Raphael Varane in the summer before the Frenchman’s contract expires in 2022.

Skriniar has always had big admirers at Real Madrid and now has an opportunity to join Los Blancos aged 26 – but the report warned any deal would be ‘complex’.

Inter are about to win Serie A and can offer Skriniar ‘a winning project’ in the short term, and they also have no financial need to sell the Slovakia international (despite the Nerazzurri’s well-documented financial problems).

Skriniar was one of three defenders identified by the report as potential replacements for Varane, along with Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Villarreal’s Pau Torres.

The former Sampdoria centre-back has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring three goals in Serie A for Antonio Conte’s side.
