Inter have chosen two transfer targets to strengthen their wing-back positions, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s print edition said the Nerazzurri remained keen on a deal to sign Emerson Palmieri, who is expected to leave Chelsea after struggling for game time.

Emerson joined the Premier League side while Antonio Conte was head coach back in 2017, but he has only played 15 times under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel this season.

Inter are also interested in a move for Alessandro Florenzi, although Paris Saint-Germain have yet to inform Roma whether they intend to make the 30-year-old’s loan deal permanent in the summer.

Elsewhere, Inter could seek a deal for Hellas Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, with the Nerazzurri unable to meet Udinese’s €20 million asking price for Juan Musso.

Edin Dzeko is likely to become an ideal option up front – as reported elsewhere today – with the Bosnian set to rescind his contract at Roma and become a free agent.

The 35-year-old is ‘the only possible exception’ to Inter’s plans of reducing the average age of their squad in the summer, the Milan-based paper added.

Inter are interested in Atalanta forward Luis Muriel as well, but they would need a sizable transfer budget to chase a deal for the Colombian.
