Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal remains a transfer target for Marseille, according to a report in the French media today.

L’Equipe (via FcInterNews.it) said Marseille president Pablo Longoria had identified Vidal as an ideal signing to provide added experience for next season.

Longoria wants a mix of experienced heads and young talents for the Ligue 1 side, and as far as the latter is concerned he could end up battling Inter for another target.

Velez Sarsfield midfielder Thiago Almada is reportedly attracting interest from Marseille, having been linked with the Nerazzurri last month.

Vidal has not played for Inter since undergoing knee surgery on March 14 and reports suggest he will not recover in time for Saturday’s next Serie A fixture away at Crotone.

A report in Italy today confirmed Inter were considering offloading the 33-year-old, who has done little to justify the faith shown in him by Antonio Conte after signing from Barcelona last summer.
