Antonio Conte’s imminent Serie A title triumph with Inter should not come as a surprise to anyone, according to Mircea Lucescu’s son Razvan.

Inter could be crowned champions as early as Sunday if they beat Crotone (on Saturday) and Atalanta fail to win at Sassuolo (Sunday afternoon).

Conte has already won three Serie A titles with Juventus and he also led Chelsea to the Premier League title in 2017.

Asked for his favourite Italian coach by TuttoMercatoWeb on Thursday, Razvan Lucescu said: “There are coaches like Conte who win everywhere they go and transmit great enthusiasm.

“Then you have Maurizio Sarri who has very organised teams and Roberto De Zerbi who has a different philosophy.

“But that’s without forgetting Massimiliano Allegri and many others.

“Italian football produces lots of great coaches.”

Mircea Lucescu had a brief stint in charge of Inter in the 1998-99 season, taking charge of 15 league matches where he won five, drew four and lost six.

He was sacked in March of that season but not before Razvan had had the chance to cheer on the Nerazzurri.

Asked if he had a preferred team in Serie A, he revealed: “I supported Pisa, Brescia and Inter, Dad’s teams.

“But when I was a child I supported Napoli, and then Diego Maradona arrived… that made everything easier.”

Lucescu is now coach at Dynamo Kiev, who played Juventus in the group stage of this season’s UEFA Champions League (losing twice).
