Steven Zhang gave an emotional address to Inter’s players today as he returned to Appiano Gentile after a six-month absence, according to a report in the Italian media.

As per ANSA (via FcInterNews.it), the Nerazzurri’s president said he was proud of the team’s effort this season and thanked them for ‘an incredible journey’.

Zhang briefly met Inter’s players and was then reunited with Antonio Conte, along with Beppe Marotta, Alessandro Antonello, Piero Ausilio and club doctor Piero Volpi.

He thanked everyone for their hard work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and told them: ‘Now there’s only one final step left’.

Inter can take that final step this weekend as the Nerazzurri have the chance to be crowned Serie A champions with four games to spare.

Conte’s side will secure the scudetto if they beat Crotone tomorrow and Atalanta fail to win at Sassuolo on Sunday afternoon.

Zhang also enjoyed a long embrace with Conte before concluding his visit to Appiano Gentile.
