Inter fans have already begun planning the celebrations over the coming weeks as the Nerazzurri close in on a first Scudetto in 11 years.

Antonio Conte’s side are on the verge of winning the Serie A title and could be crowned champions this weekend, should they defeat Crotone today and Atalanta fail to record a victory over Sassuolo tomorrow.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, fans have been working for over a month to prepare a celebration in the Curva Nord of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, in anticipation of the title.

A group of 250 fans have been working on banners and celebratory artwork to be displayed in the Curva, with some dealing with permits, whilst also maintaining COVID-19 restrictions.

Meanwhile, Inter’s next home game, against Sampdoria next Sunday, will see barricades removed from the entrance to the stadium and fans will gather to welcome the team coach.

The main celebrations are planned for the final day of the season, 23 May, with fans promising a huge spectacle to honour Conte’s side.

Elsewhere, a mural of striker Romelu Lukaku in the tricolour of the Scudetto has emerged on the wall of a racing ground in the Baretto district of the city, along with the caption: “Dear Milano, you are welcome.”
