Inter coach Antonio Conte is set to become one of the most decorated coaches in Serie A history as he closes in on a fourth Scudetto in his managerial career.
The 51-year-old has led the Nerazzurri to the verge of the league title this season, with victory over Crotone today meaning Inter will become champions for the first time since 2010 if Atalanta fail to beat Sassuolo tomorrow.
As highlighted in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, this would be Conte’s fourth Scudetto after winning three consecutive titles with Juventus between 2012 and 2014, whilst he also won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017.
It would take him level with former Juventus coach Carlo Carcano on four Serie A titles and leave him behind only Giovanni Trapattoni, Massimiliano Allegri, Fabio Capello, and Marcello Lippi in the league’s history.
However, the newspaper suggested that this had been the most challenging title of Conte’s career, with the former Italy coach dealing with off-the-field issues as well as professional challenges, including falling victim to a €30 million investment scam.
