Inter coach Antonio Conte remains determined to bring in Roma striker Edin Dzeko this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin.

The Bosnia international came close to joining Inter in January as part of an exchange deal with Alexis Sanchez, before the deal ultimately collapsed. It came after Dzeko had fallen out with coach Paulo Fonseca, and whilst he has since returned to the fold, he faces an uncertain future in the capital.

In an interview with Calciomercato.com, and as reported by FCInter1908.it, Biasin claimed that Dzeko remained on Conte’s wish list and that the 35-year-old would be heavily utilised at Inter.

“There is only one player Conte would like from Roma, and that is Edin Dzeko. For the Inter coach, he would be a starter,” Biasin claimed.

Meanwhile, the journalist also turned his attention to Nerazzurri midfielder Arturo Vidal, with the Chile international underwhelming following his arrival from Barcelona at the start of the season.

Biasin insisted that the former Juventus player had failed to impress in his maiden season at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

“Vidal has been a flop. He came in to provide experience and be a starter. But between injuries and poor performances he has almost never been useful,” Biasin added.

Vidal has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Inter this season, scoring two goals.
