Former AC Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta claimed that Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi is the complete player and felt that he could have a big impact for the Nerazzurri.
The Italian international was handed a starting spot by coach Antonio Conte in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Crotone and played for 65 minutes, before being substituted for goalscorer Christian Eriksen. Achraf Hakimi went on to net a second in stoppage time to put Inter on the brink of the Scudetto.
Appearing as an analyst on Italian television channel Sky Sport Italia to cover the match yesterday, Costacurta praised Sensi and felt that he had a unique skillset, even in comparison to Eriksen.
“Inter were cautious in the first half with Crotone but then the physical strength and technique came out. You can see why from how he’s playing,” Costacurta claimed of Sensi during his analysis.
“He has passes that no other midfielders have, including Eriksen, and is playing better than before. Sensi has good passing range and created two chances.
“He is a complete footballer apart from some physical problems that he has suffered. I like Sensi very much. I also think [Marcelo] Brozovic has an incredible mentality and the season he is having is being underestimated,” Costacurta continued.
Sensi has struggled with injuries this season and has been limited to just 14 Serie A appearances, as well as a further three across the Coppa Italia and Champions League.
